Sandra Beljan, Paralegal
Sandy
began working for The Ohio Bell Telephone Company in 1963. During
her 30 year career there, 28 years were specifically devoted to
handling the companys self-insured workers compensation
administration.
Upon her "retirement" from Ohio Bell
in 1993, Sandy was recruited by a TPA (Workers Compensation
Third Party Administrator) to handle their employer clients
workers compensation claims, both state fund and self-insured,
with emphasis on the self-insured employers, and to review and update
their office procedures and practices. She spent three years with
them, administering workers compensation from a TPA aspect,
handling the day-to-day claims and the requirements of numerous
clients.
In 1996, Sandy began working with Michael Goldstein,
whom she had previously known from his workers compensation
representation of Ohio Bell. They first worked together at the trial
of a contested workers compensation claim. As Michaels
paralegal, Sandy not only handles workers compensation claims
for both self-insured and state fund clients, but also assists Michael
with litigation involving class actions; public liability/personal
injury defense; and employment law issues such as sexual harassment,
age, handicap, and workers compensation discrimination, and
labor arbitration defense. Sandy enjoys her many opportunities for
contact with the firms clients, and feels her experience and
insight into the working needs of employers, TPAs, and now
the legal profession is of great benefit to our clients. |
